My 4-year-old daughter basically believes her entire diet should be pizza and cookies. Like, if it’s not round or covered in chocolate chips, she’s out! I’ve tried everything, veggies, new foods, all the tricks but if it’s green, it’s like I’m offering her poison. Anyone else raising a mini food critic like this? Or did I already fail at this whole mom thing?
Please, how do you get them to eat something without the side eye of betrayal?
Haha, omg SAME! My kid legit acts like broccoli is plotting her demise. I just gave up and put spinach in smoothies. She’ll never know.
You’re totally not failing, promise! My son was the same at that age, and I swear it’s just a phase. I started with a little “food fun” , I’d make faces on his plate using different foods. He’d eat the carrot nose from the face because it was part of a game. He’s 10 now and still not the biggest fan of greens, but he’ll at least try new things. I also found that involving him in cooking helped a lot. If they make it, they’re more likely to eat it.
THX for the tip! I might try that food face idea. I’ve also been sneaking some into her mac n cheese. A little spinach never hurt anyone, right?
