How do you get your kids to eat their veggies? 🥦

Hey everyone! So, I’ve got a bit of a challenge with my two kids when it comes to mealtime. My 6-year-old is incredibly picky—veggies are a no-go unless they’re hidden in something, and even then, it’s hit or miss. My 3-year-old, on the other hand, seems to have decided that anything green is “yucky.” I’ve tried sneaking veggies into sauces and smoothies, but I’m starting to run out of ideas.
Anyone have tips or tricks that have worked for you? I’m all ears!

I feel you on this one! My oldest refused anything green for the longest time. What helped was making veggies fun—like turning them into silly faces on their plate or letting them “build” their own salads with lots of toppings. They feel more in control and might just surprise you by trying something new!!!

Have you tried growing a small garden with them? We planted a tiny vegetable garden last year, and my kids were way more interested in eating the veggies they helped grow. My 7-year-old suddenly decided that zucchini was her favorite because she “grew it herself.” :seedling: Plus, it’s a fun way to spend time together outside.

Thanks for the suggestions! I haven’t tried growing a garden, but I love the idea of getting them involved like that. Maybe if they pick it, they’ll eat it…fingers crossed! The silly faces idea is brilliant too—I’ll definitely give that a go. Here’s hoping for some veggie love in our house soon!

I’ve been blending spinach into pancakes and no one has noticed yet. The trick is not to add too much so the color isn’t obvious. It’s become my secret weapon. Spinach pancakes, anyone?
