What are the most important mileston during Preschool years?

Hi all, I’m a dad of a toddler, and I really want to make sure I’m on top of the important milestones in these early years. I just feel like there’s so much going on developmentally and I want to help my kid as much as I can. Are there specific things I should be watching out for? Anything I need to know to help him grow or handle challenges better?

Wait till they start asking ‘why’ 300 times a day…now that’s a milestone .

I feel you! My youngest hit some milestones really early, and my oldest seemed to take his sweet time. It’s tricky because every kid does things on their own schedule, but those preschool years are huge for building independence. Things like learning to get dressed, understanding routines, or even something as simple as holding a pencil can feel like small victories. Just remember, not every milestone needs to happen exactly “on time.” If your kiddo is healthy and curious, you’re already doing an amazing job.

It’s really helpful to keep an eye on movement milestones like learning to balance or hopping on one foot along with speech development. Around 4-5 years, kids also start understanding the concept of sharing and taking turns, which can make or break those early friendships.
